baby girl -- 12-18 weeks

I have been taking progression pictures this pregnancy with a fruit or vegetable that is about the size of the baby. Riley has totally been into this and he likes to hold the objects and pretend they're the baby. He will tickle my stomach and ask if the baby likes it and carry on conversations with her. He is good at one sided conversations. :)

I can feel the baby moving all the time these days and Matt got to feel her first the first time on the day she turned 18 weeks, I feel so huge this time and have since the beginning. I'm not sure if it's because it is my 4th pregnancy or because it's a girl. I'm craving spicy foods like I never have before. I've always loved spicy food but never this spicy! I used 2 fire packets and 3 hot sauces on one taco the other day and it still wasn't spicy enough. :)

zoo trip

We went to visit the zoo in September. It was a really hot day but the kids loved it!

Riley was happy he got to hug an "animal".

The giraffes and elephants were my favorite part of the zoo.

It was cool that you could see the manatees up close and under water!

Instagrams -- September & October

Riley wanted to be "wrapped up like a baby" when he woke up from a nap one day... little cutie... Weston has really gotten into reading these days... enjoying an afternoon at the park...
we got to go to a Gator game last month, thanks to some friends giving us tickets... the boys were sound asleep halfway through the game... I love when he's all wrapped up and looking babyish... picnic time...

Weston was doing some dramatic "crying" and "talking" while Riley was praying... baby boy was so tired but wouldn't nap so we snuggled... they were having such cute conversations under the table...
Riley wanted to wear Matt's motorcycle gloves on a bike ride... I just love this little guy... yummy potato soup... it was a nice fall day for a car show with the family... Weston wanted to help push the buggy while grocery shopping... the boys were licking limes and Weston's face says it all :)

Instagrams -- August

it's rare when Weston falls asleep in my arms so I enjoy the times that it happens... little man loves to sit in rocking chairs by himself... I took the boys to a kid's gymnastic gym to play and they had a blast. Riley liked jumping into the foam pit... I was doing flash cards with Riley when he took them all and started organizing by color... Riley got to sleep in his tent for his birthday... trying to take a picture with the 3 year old and it was pretty much impossible to get him to look at the camera...
Riley got boots for his birthday and he loves wearing them. For about 2 weeks he brought them to me before breakfast every morning and asked for help putting them on... Weston has moved in with Riley and they are loving sharing a room... Riley holding his cousin Toby...

the boys love playing in the spicket... baby Weston was so tired after playing outside that he kept laying on the rug while I made dinner... my little farmer baby trying on hats at the hardware store...
when Matt and I went away for our anniversary we ate at an old dinner that my dad use to eat at in his single days... having fun trying on goofy sunglasses... Weston giving me kisses for the first time...

four years

I spent the last four years married to my best friend and I couldn't be more content. He shows me his love every day in such practical ways. I am more in love with him today than I was the day I married him.

Matt and I got to spend three days in St. Augustine without the kiddos and it was a nice getaway time where we could talk without constant interruptions and sleep past 7 o'clock. :)

St. Augustine is like my favorite city. I love the old buildings, the brick roads and the breeze!

We climbed the St. Augustine lighthouse, which was my first time.

The view was gorgeous! We got up there right before a rainstorm hit. I was so nice and breezy at the top.

Matt climbed the lighthouse a second time without me and took this picture from the top. The speck on the stairs is me. :)

We didn't take this picture until after climbing and it had started raining.

Riley turns 3

Riley Preston turned 3 years old today! He is a rambunctious little guy who is loads of fun and has more energy then Matt and I combined, I think. He is really in to firetrucks and police cars right now and requested a firetruck cake for his birthday.

Matt made some homemade lego gummies for the party. The kids loved them and finished them off that day.

So Riley was given lots of presents for his birthday but pretty much in all the pictures you couldn't see Riley since he had help with his gifts. :)

Riley is doing very well with peddalling the bike on the pavement.
Tonight he was thrilled when a police man stopped by our house. The officer had pulled someone over near the house and when he was done he turned around and pulled in the drive to see Riley. I thought it was nice of the man to stop by and when he asked Riley how old he was he got to tell him it was his birthday. Riley was very sad tonight when he had to change out of his shirt that had a sticker from the police man on it. We love our little guy and are so thankful that God has given him to us to raise!

Instagrams -- July

we went with some family to visit a little zoo near us... Matt got to go on a blimp ride... the boys all ready for the parade... Matt had lots of help driving in the parade...
we had one boy all excited about the fireworks and one just the opposite (he did get over it and ended up enjoying them)... the baby was being all snugly with daddy... the boys and I went with my sister and her kids to the Cow Appreciation Day at Chick fil a... my little cows...

I'm so happy with my kitchen! Even though the floors are not what I would've picked out, they really don't bother me now with everything not being the same color... sharing an ice cream cone... I loved Riley's expression while wearing my sunglasses... the boys were excited to be holding hands walking into church...
I made a bright curtain and a sign with a quote from one of my favorite songs for the kitchen... we had a fun day planned with outdoor activities but it rained so we watched Veggie Tales, colored and had an indoor picnic... I believe that dirt is a necessity in a little boy's life... this kiddo is just like his brother and likes to try out dangerous things...

the kitchen makeover

So after just over three weeks, my kitchen cabinets are finished! I read some one's blog saying it had taken them three weeks, as they were also doing it during nap times and when their kids went to bed. I was really hoping mine wouldn't take that long but it did. I will say it was totally worth it!

For the white cabinets I used Benjamin Moore Advance in Dove White. It was my first time using BM and it was totally worth the $50/gallon. It gave a nice smooth finish. It only took one gallon of paint for all the white cabinets and I used a quart of the same type of BM paint for the island.

I was planing on using a liquid sander instead of having to actually sand the cabinets. I used it on one cabinet frame and the smell was so strong and horrible I knew there was no way I would be able to use it. It also took more time than sanding. Sanding was a little messier and definitely was an arm work out but it worked better for me. I thought my arm would fall off a couple of times. :)

This is the actual color of the island which is Peacock Blue. It was hard to get the accurate color in all the pictures.

So I forgot to take good before and after pictures but I found this one.

We also painted the walls... this was one thing I wasn't sure would be finished by this weekend but thanks to Matt's help, we finished it in one night.

I spray painted the knobs silver. I'm not sure how they will hold up but we shall see.

We went to a flea market today and found this typewriter for $5!

I've wanted to tackle this project for a LONG time and finally took the leap. It was definitely the biggest project I've done and I think I'm done with painting for a little while. I still have more changes that will be coming over the next couple of weeks and months with this kitchen. Right now, I'm just so glad I've made it this far. :)

just a peek

So today marks 3 weeks since I started my kitchen cabinets and it has been a long 3 weeks! My kitchen island is now complete, as of this past weekend. I am now seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with all the doors almost complete.
