Weston turns three

Little man Weston turned three last Wednesday and we have had fun celebrating him this week. He wanted to go to "Bubba's Park" on his birthday. He calls it that because we went there last year on Riley's birthday. Then we picked up Matt in town and tried out the new ice cream shop.

Chloe wasn't a fan of the water

Then on Saturday we had some cousins and friends over to celebrate with him.

He was more excited about his candles than his cake. He had been asking for days when we would have candles.

I loved seeing his excitement over every thing.

more shenanigans

As soon as Matt spotted the Cobra Mustang plant, he knew we had to work that into the schedule. They turn regular mustangs into Cobras and they let you see some of the process. They also have Carroll Shelby's personal car collection there.

I took pictures of the banner that was being flown from a second helicopter. I got to fly around in a helicopter, with no doors, for two hours. It was an amazing experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

These beautiful fountains go off every 15 minutes so I got to see them several times from the sky.

grand canyon

One of the places I've wanted to visit for a long time is the Grand Canyon and I got to do that with Matt and Chloe last week. Matt had a job in Las Vegas and it worked out for Chloe and I to tag along. We got into Vegas at 8:30am (their time) and drove 5 hours to the Canyon. It was a beautiful drive and we thoroughly enjoyed it, even though we were both tired. We ended up being up for like 27 hours, with a cat nap thrown in there, but we wouldn't have changed anything (minus the baby not sleeping:) )

It was definitely more amazing in person than in pictures. When seeing God's creation in places like that it makes me feel so small.

Chloe's birthday party

We celebrated Chloe's birthday last Sunday with both sets of her grandparents. Her first birthday came up a whole lot faster than I wanted but I did enjoy putting together a girly party.

I told Matt that this was the first, first birthday cake that I haven't cried over. :) I am no cake decorator and for once I had a cake that went together easy.

She didn't really know what to do with the presents and the boys were more than willing to help her out.

Valentine's Pictures

It has become a fun tradition to take pictures of my kids on Valentine's Day. After being sick for a couple of weeks, I was feeling uninspired for this years pictures but thanks to the balloons idea from my sister I'm so happy with how they turned out.

Also, my kids kept asking whose birthday it was when they saw the balloons on Valentine's morning. Apparently they think that balloons are only for birthdays. :) I also don't make sweets very often either because they also thought that since I was making treats it had to be some one's birthday. They didn't quite understand what a holiday means but it was a fun day with them and they were happy kiddos.

Chloe -- 9 months

It seems like the only time I post on the blog is Chloe's month updates. And I'm like a week late on this one but, oh well.

This has been a big month for Chloe as she is now crawling and pulling up everywhere. She walks along furniture, pulls up in her crib and just about anywhere else she wants to. This has opened a whole new world of things to play with and messes to make.

It was really hard to get her to sit for pictures because she would much rather stand.

Chloe -- 8 months

Chloe turned 8 months old yesterday! She has changed so much in just this past month.

I think she is trying to hide her age in the picture below. :)
Chloe said her first word, at the beginning of December, and that word is "da-da". Why am I not surprised?! :) She cut her first tooth on the last day of December and is having a bit of a rough time with that. She now sleeps in her crib at night, since she now gets into a sitting position all the time and the bassinet became dangerous.  She gets into the crawling position but usually she has one foot stuck behind the other so she lands on her stomach and then sits back up. The boys still ask to hold her but she doesn't usually put up with that for long. She loves food more than ever. Seriously she sees it and won't be quiet until she gets it! We love seeing our girl grow and learn new things and love her more all the time.
