at home...

It's so nice to be at home and settling in to everyday life. It was hard to see Matt go back to work after having him around all the time for a week and a half. Thankfully he's been off early every day so it's made it easier.

First time in the bassinet.

He's becoming more and more alert all the time. It's amazing how fast he changes.

 Such huge yawns!

I love all the little features on babies.

1 week old

It's hard to believe Riley is a week old (actually over that now). These pictures were taken at one week though.

Riley Preston

Matt and I were so thrilled to welcome Riley into the world on August 16th. Riley surprised us by being born on his due date! It was so amazing seeing our son for the first time. I couldn't get over how perfect he was and the fact that he was "ours".

Riley with his Daddy right after he was born.

Matt's parents and siblings meeting him for the first time.

Riley with his Grandaddy.

Our family!

Riley after surgery. He was such a trooper with everything and rarely cried. He really didn't like his blood pressure being taken and would always pitch a fit about it. They would take his blood though and he wouldn't even whimper. We were very thankful that we were able to be with Riley the whole time and he didn't have to go to any ICU's.

This baby loves to sleep with his hands next to him. It's so sweet!

Baby's Room

For those of you who have asked for pictures (and for those who haven't), here they are...

The tree was suppose to be a wall decal, but it did not stick well on the wall at all. I knew the first time our "well behaved child" messed with it, it would be messed up. I ended up tracing the whole thing and painting it. Matt did help with some of it as well. I've done more painting while pregnant with this child than I've ever done in my life! Oh, his name will be on the wall above the bed with a burlap flag banner, but since he's not here yet, I wasn't going to put the name for everyone to see. :)

As time was going along, I really didn't think I was going to get the bedding made before the baby was born. Once I actually got started on it, it really didn't take that long and I love how it turned out. I used ribbon for the trim and the ties and that was a big time saver opposed to making it from fabric.

I hope to get some more posting done before this weekend is over...we'll see.
