I did a Valentine's Day shoot with Riley today and he was being such a poser for the pictures!

just random
These are some random picture from this year...
Riley really loves his swing!
He was being silly one day and was wanting to be wrapped up like a little baby again. The funny thing was that he was trying to walk around while wrapped in his blanket.
This is a normal way to find Riley sitting in his highchair while I fix breakfast.
This past weekend, I took some pictures of Riley with two of his cousins for Etsy listings.

Christmas 2013
I have been so behind on blogging it's not even funny! Anyways, I'm going to try and catch up in the next couple post.
We celebrated our Christmas on Christmas Eve. Riley was old enough to enjoy Christmas this year and make things more challenging. He really liked the Christmas tree... a little too much! He liked to take the ornaments off and then try to put them back on.
Once Riley opened his first gift, he was happy to go play with his car and not open the rest. He then got the hang of what was going on and liked sitting there while daddy did most of the work. He wasn't big into tearing the paper but once he saw what it was he would starting signing "please" for it to be taken out.
He signed "please" over and over again for the tractor because apparently his daddy wasn't taking it out fast enough.
On Christmas morning, we had Christmas with Matt's side of the family.
The family is ever growing which makes it a little more crazy every year. It's not as crazy as my side of the family though.
Kenna is obviously happy with her gift!
The afternoon of Christmas was spent at my parent's house. Gift opening is always crazy and loud but it's also fun!
These two little guys thought they should be able to ride the bike too!

Eppie
I knew as I approached today that I wanted to write something. I didn't know what exactly but I'll see what comes.
Today was my due date of my second child. For anyone reading this post that didn't know, I miscarried in July. I wanted to honor that baby in someway today by mentioning her. She'll never have birthdays to remember and celebrate but I didn't want to overlook today. We didn't know if she was a girl but we felt like she was and thus the name Eppie Noella. Eppie was her nickname during the pregnancy and Noella since she was due in December.
My husband has been such a rock during these last five months as we have gone through the healing process together. So many times I feel like we're on the same page and dealing with things at the same time when we talk about it.
Eppie will never be replaced in our lives and that's why I didn't want today to pass without mentioning her. I think some people think that my grieve is because I want another baby or that if I just hurry up and have another one then that will "fix" my problems. That's not true for me.
The Lord gave me this verse earlier this week as it has been an especially difficult week.
"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27

texas trip part 3
This is my last post from our Texas trip. On our last day in Texas, we went to the Fort Worth Stock Yards. That was a really neat place to visit! This felt like the real Texas to me. It was rainy and very cold that day but we (or I should say I) endured it for a couple of hours.
This Texas police officer was riding the streets on his horse.
At scheduled times throughout the day, they drive Longhorns through the street.
Riley was being so cute walking with Matt. My baby is growing up so fast and turning into a little boy! Many a time now I feel like we have a toddler on our hands now and not a baby.

texas trip part 2
We made a trip to downtown Dallas with some of our family. There was a park right in the middle of skyscrapers where the kids could play.
Riley liked riding the merry-go-round.
He looked way too grown up on this thing!
Riley has discovered that he likes wearing his sunglasses.
part of the crew we were with
This was a beautiful building that had blue lights shining from the ground that lit up the building at night. It was really cool to see but I wasn't able to get a picture of it.
Joy and Carson in front of the building in which JFK was shot from.
A memorial to Martin Luther King, Jr. and Rosa Parks.
Something I've wanted to do for awhile... eat from a food truck. There were six food trucks to choose from and this one had the best looking menu to us.
Sliders-- fried chicken topped with mashed potatoes, bbq pork with tomato and jalapenos and a sausage slider with onions and cheese. They were yummy! Also they had the best tater tots I've ever had.
One night we went to the American Airlines Center to take pictures of a night sign that was flying.
Riley fell asleep on the way and slept the whole time we were there. Thanks to the timer for this picture as the camera sat on top of a garbage can.
The night sign. A night sign also flew and Samuel and Donna's wedding saying "Congratulations Samuel & Donna". I wasn't able to get a good picture of it at the wedding. The words change to form a sentence or phrase. In this picture it says "Mavs" which is short for the Dallas Mavericks.
I should just have one more post of our visit to Fort Worth.
