living room

I've been working on a small makeover in the living room. I have tried, I think, four different curtain options since we moved in and I'm finally happy with the fourth! Once the curtains were made I wanted to make pillow covers with the new design that I've been making for Etsy.

I've also wanted to paint the coffee table for awhile now and after it sat in the garage for four weeks, I was able to finish it.

I replaced the knobs with glass ones.

I also repainted the end table. The only before picture I have is this one where you can see the table in the background.

I had ideas for the green walls flanking the fireplace but once I found the canvas on the left that matched the room perfectly I had a change of plans.

Matt helped me make these frames...

Mother's Day pictures

Matt took some pictures of Riley and I yesterday for Mother's Day. Riley was being a little rascal and if he was down he didn't want to stand still. I think he thought it was a game with the way he was laughing about it.
I love this one of Riley being serious! This was at the beginning before he started having fun.

I can't wait to see Riley with his little brother. When he sees a baby he points to it and says "What's that?". He knows what they are but loves to ask that question about everything.

wild hog canoe race

The 37th annual Wild Hog Canoe Race took place at the end of April. Matt competed in the race for the third year in a row and I took pictures for the event for the second year.

Timothy and Wallace competed together this year.

This was the largest crowd I've seen in the three years that we've gone.

There were around 100 boats that entered the race this year which I believe was about 30 more than last year.

I'm not sure if it was on purpose or an accident that one of these guys flipped the other guys canoe but once the first one was flipped the second crew flipped their competitors canoe. It made for some good laughs and funny pictures.

Quite a few people from the church entered this year which can be picked out in the following pictures.

The entrance to where the race ends...

Riley saw me do this with my sunglasses at one point while I was taking pictures so he wanted to try it too.

I thought this picture was pretty funny as it appears that the canoe is going to tip but it managed not to. Also notice the canoe in the background has no one in it. A couple of team's canoe would go floating down the river and they would have to try and chase after it in the water.

This is only about half of the racers. A lot of people had left by the time this picture was taken.

Easter 2014

I have seriously been behind on blogging! These are two pictures that were taken on Easter Sunday. It had been awhile since we had used a tripod with Riley but he did well and knew what to do.

twenty months

My baby turned twenty months today and I really don't know where the time has gone. He is becoming more of a little boy and less of a baby every day. I haven't done a month old post since he turned one so I thought I should do one again.

Riley would be happy to be a fruitarian since he likes some fruit more than most other foods. He's starting to say new words every couple of days. His newest two are "bed" and "water". He says "What's that?" all the time and usually asks more than once with the same object. He will ask to use the toilet throughout the day and most of the time he actually does go. He's learned that he gets an M&M if he goes so that has encouraged him along. Although he is growing up he still loves his blankets, paci and likes to be held.
