life.

It's been busy...seems like it always is. Time keeps flying by and you can't get it back. Riley is a daily reminder of that. He's growing up way too fast for this mommy. He army crawls everywhere and loves to play with anything that isn't a toy(or anything he shouldn't play with). He now likes baby food and sometimes a little taste of our food. He loves to eat puffs, but doesn't understand how to release it from his hand to his mouth yet. He has started getting up on his knees in an attempt to learn to crawl and has tried to pull up, but hasn't been successful. Anyways...here are some pictures from March.

A couple of weeks ago we took him to the park and he enjoyed his time there.

Swinging with daddy.

A lady volunteered to take our picture.

Riley on his 7 month birthday...

Since Riley is such a good baby in public, I've gotten a couple of people asking if he cries so here's proof.

I love my baby boy!

I made another pallet sign for our house and am really happy with how it turned out. Matt and I also made a couple of shelves for the living room and I'll have to post pictures with a link to a tutorial soon.

Eating puffs.

We had a fun night, with the family, at the ball park celebrating Luke's birthday.

The birthday boy himself.

Even though this one turned out blurry I had to post it because I love Patrick's expression!

I love my baby's blue eyes! I was hoping he would get Matt's eyes and he did.

weekend fun

Last weekend, we went to visit Ryan, Joy and the kiddos. We had a great time hanging out with them. We also got to see Joe and Amanda on Saturday which was great!

MFI was having family day on Saturday so we got to spend the day there enjoying the festivities.

They had a cotton candy machine. I tried cotton candy for the first time and let's just say I haven't been missing a thing! It's cool looking and fun to watch being made, but the taste just isn't for me.

Bounce house for the kids

Riley got lots of attention!

Alayna showing off her butterfly.

Little miss Chetto's face...she found a friend there who she loved and would take snacks to get her to open them. She's a smart one!

Riley even got his face painted. He was actually pretty still. He just had to try to see what the paint brush was doing a couple of times.

They had two fire trucks there that the kids loved looking at and climbing in.

I think Alayna was doing the Gator chomp!

Matt and I took Riley, Caden and Alayna on a DC-3 ride. It's cool to be able to see into the cockpit while you're flying!

All hyper before take off.

The only time Alayna got a little bit frightened was when we went over the water she grabbed my arm and said she didn't want to get wet if we crashed.

And the plane ride put him to sleep.

Phone Shots -- February

So, I'm stealing Susan's idea and posting Instagram pictures taken through out the month.

Yummy hot chocolate, Riley matching his newest cousin, happy baby out shopping, just because he's cute, waking up ready for the weekend, our first date without the little guy, sleeping on his side for the 1st time, staying warm on a chilly morning, on his 6mo. birthday, watching a helicopter land on the Shand's helipad, Riley playing the piano, chillin' on the hammock, Matt had Riley doing his 1st pull-up, happy baby playing, enjoying the park, and all cozy on the hammock.

the little guy

I finally got Riley's 6 month pictures done. You can see more of them here. Due to the unusual Florida weather, I had to keep postponing.

You can tell Matt was along for the photo shoot!

I gave Riley a sippy cup for the first time the other day and he knew exactly what to do with it.

He couldn't really get anything out, but he had fun chewing on it.

This picture was actually taken about a month ago and got forgotten about. This was his first time helping his daddy drive.

I can't believe my baby is 6 months old. He's changing so fast and most of the time I'm wishing life would just slow down. He's generally a happy little guy and so fun to take care of. He has started saying "da-da", but I don't think he knows what it means yet. He will just start hollering it when he's upset or aggravated. He is a little social bug and will get upset when he's left in a room to play by himself.

Projects

Over the last month and a half, we have been working on some projects around the house. I love building/creating things with Matt. He does a great job at making my ideas come to life.

I picked up some old windows at an antique store in town for a great deal! I was so excited to find them. This one just needed some scrapping and a new coat of paint.

We are now using it to display our family pictures. I just put some fabric in the panes where there are no pictures.

Matt also made this big frame for me to hang miscellaneous pictures. This frame was in the making for a long time, but as the tools needed were acquired, we finally got it finished and hung.

I got this shelf idea off of Pinterest. I really liked the shelf in the natural wood color, but it didn't really fit Riley's room so I painted it.

The finished product. We hung it low so Riley can reach the books when he gets a little older.

I hang so many pictures in my house that I can't just go out and buy a bunch of frames that are exactly what I want. My solution is to paint the frames I find. I found the best paint for this is the paint you use on your walls cause it's thicker than spray paint or some other types I've tried. We hung this collage in the baby's room this weekend and will add to it as I take pictures of him.

This is an old project, but I realized I never put a picture on here. His first Christmas ornament-his hand print.

This isn't a project, or is it? I just love pictures of him sleeping!

*Thanks to Susan for our family pictures and some of the pictures in Riley's room.
